Yes they do actually, so that's good.  My comment about being sorted by
time isn't accurate (although that's what it looks like).

Thunderbird, although it does use message-ids, also groups by subject
which is really annoying when I happen to get a message with the same
subject as six months ago.  A bug the refuse to fix.

Anyway, the purists would argue that the kinds of conversations we have
on uug are best suited to usenet and skip e-mail altogether.
