htop exists in both EPEL and rpmforge, repositories that almost all RHEL users use as a matter of course. Since it's a standard Fedora package, odds are it will make it into the main RHEL 6 repos. I'm a but uncertain why I'd want blender on my server running RHEL. I suppose you could make the case for using a long-term stable desktop distro such as RHEL in a movie production house though. While it is true that Debian has everything under the sun, a lot of packages can't really be vouched for and are likely unmaintained. The things that are in the RHEL official repos are all tested and bug-fixed and generally proven stable. The EPEL repos aren't really stable, but the packages all have maintainers. Hence RHEL is not quite as cool as debian, but in my opinion more stable and reliable. Debian is stable and reliable too, as long as you're not trying to install some obscure package that hasn't been updated in a while and may introduce a security problem. Just my opinion though. -------------------- BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ The opinions expressed in this message are the responsibility of their author.
