This was my finding as well. Unfortunate, since I'm sure such a thing is 
pretty easy to do. I really like Mondomouse. It's even better than 
Alt+click, because it uses just Alt+drag (no clicking). Just put your 
cursor over the window you want to move, hold the Alt (Command) key and 
start moving the mouse -- the window moves with you. Pretty cool stuff.

Too darn bad you get so nickeled and dimed in OS X for stuff like this. 
Things are improving in this area, but too many of these itty bitty 
utilities cost money on OS X.
