I must admit that I haven't used these diagnostic tools before.  Are
they similar to what is available with SMART, or do they have extra
capabilities?

Maybe we could add a little blurb to our flyers like: "Bring your
computer to the meeting for free help with Linux troubleshooting and
configuration."  That might get some extra people come out to meetings,
and it would be a great way to help people out.  It's an idea, anyway.
