Hi Elizabeth,

I am running Arc 10 on my iMac. I use VMWare Fusion and it seems to work
just fine, if a little slowly (I think mainly because of data access, a
lot of my data are on an external drive). I had been using a PC, and so
far I use all of my old spatial data and .mxd files from an external drive
where I'd backed up my PC (the drive is unavailable to the Mac side when
VMWare is up), and I'm storing new data and .mxd on my Mac drive in the
"Documents" folder (which you can access from both the Mac and the VMWare
side simultaneously). Not a clean set-up, I'm aware, but I haven't had
the motivation to move all of the external drive stuff onto my Mac drive.
I am not storing anything in the virtual machine because I didn't want to
allocate a lot of space for it (I'm using 100 Gb) and I wanted to access
the data even when the VM is off. Also I chose not to do the Boot Camp
partition because, even though Arc would probably run faster if I booted
up natively in Windows, it just wasn't worth it for me to deal with the
extra hassle. As for migrating the workstation settings, I just went
ahead and set it up again, I didn't have a lot of customized settings, and
my folder structures are all the same because they're on my external
drive. There were some quirks in getting the shared "Documents" folder to
work properly so that I could see my data from the virtual Windows
machine, but fixing it was easy enough that I have forgotten how I did it.
 I hope this helps!

Jen
