Some will say better performance, some will say worse performance.  As far
as I know, no one has ever tried it on a dyno to see (although it would be
real simple to do).  Personally, I like the way it makes the bike sound at
idle.  You get a more pronounced loap.  As for performance, I can't tell
much difference one way or the other.

To do it, remove the left scoop.  You'll find a round connector (the only
round one in there).  Unplug it and then lightly plug it back together.
Turn the key on while watching the vboost mechanism cycle (down under the
carbs).  Unplug the round plug when the vboost is wide open.  It may take
you a couple of tries to get it just right.  The servo pauses for about a
half a second when it's fully open.  It helps if you have someone else turn
the key on for you so you can concentrate on watching the mechanism, etc.

It's a quick, easy thing to do.  If you don't like it, just plug it back in.
One note, you will have to adjust the idle speed (left side between the
carbs).  Just remember to plug it back in before synching the carbs.
