Hi,

In my mainframe days we were sent to courses on DB design.
There are certain 'Rules' that should be used when deciding which fields to
include in which Tables.

Don't sweat it, if you doze off AFTER 3. Most of us didn't bother going past
'Third Normal form'

Once one has the design right, there can be situations where the DB design
is tweaked for perormance considerations.
However, the rule that I follow is -
 Get it right, and only consider performance if you suspect it will become a
problem.
