A standard mouse (or a touchpad) is a relative point device. If you move the
mouse, the mouse cursor starts to move from his current position. A absolute
point device allows the mouse pointer to "travel" from one place to another
of the screen instantly. A good example is the use of touchscreens devices
with Windows: where do you touch is where the mouse goes.
Virtualbox uses this to allow you to "get out" of the screen with the mouse
and "get in" in the other side seamlessly.
