Host: Win7 Guest: Ubuntu 11.10 (32bit) w/1GB memory assigned VirtualBox: 4.1.4r74291 3D acceleration is enabled w/128MB memory assigned.
Without the guest additions I am able to run Unity 3D and Unity 2D. Unity launcher side panel & top panel appear & work properly. However when I install vboxadditions_4.1.4_74291 I lose the launcher and top panel in Unity (3D). I see the top panel appear briefly & then it disappears. The panels are apparently there as when a click on a location where a panel icon should be I do get a menu (or the application launches). If I log out and switch to Unity 2-D the panel icons are present. I have purged the VM and reinstalled several times with the same results. Note: This same machine has Ubuntu 11.10 installed in VMWare Player & Unity 3D works fine.
