Hi John,
Oopsie ... that was stale data. I should have been more thorough in
my research. This time I tested it ... :) ... sorry about that!
As you probably know, shutdown the VM first (no snapshots either),
then use your O/S tools to copy the bits. After, generate a new
UUID. Below, I've created a new `VDI' from an existing `VDI'
At times, I've been known to make `gold versions' of a `VDI' and use
the command below to create new Instances:
pablo@oreo:/usr2/tmp
$ vboxmanage internalcommands sethduuid monkey.vdi
UUID changed to: 21cdfd83-a9c0-44c7-ae93-565eb704198e
