... It might be that after setting the setextradata parameters that the VM still complains it is not activated. This might be because of an incorrectly set parameter, or might be because the VM saw a hardware change, then saw it change back, BUT it still saw the initial change and complains. Perhaps try the setextradata values on a fresh clone of the VM, and set the parameters before it gets a chance to see ANY changed hardware.
