Yes, your rules are very complex & restrictive. As Jim mentioned, the
spam assassin message is probably generated because spam assassin
cannot make DNS queries too. Spam assassin is not interfering with DNS
queries from virtual machine, but neither spamd nor virtual machine
can make DNS queries.
Also, since you use proxy, you can probably set virtual machine to use
your host as a proxy. (I guess your firewall is blocking http requests
from virtual machine). It seems to me all your problems are caused by
your firewall.
