Your permissions look a lot different to the ones on my server (which is also running vpopmail-5.3.27).

Also I remembered seeing a similar posts to yours recently :

Both these people were running vpopmail from /usr/local/vpopmail. I wonder if there is something wrong with the recently modified installer scripts when installing to /usr/local/vpopmail ?

There is no occurrence of the word "Permission" within any of the vpopmail source, so that error is definitely not being generated by vpopmail

It is likely that the vdelivermail program hasn't got the correct permissions set

There where some significant changes made to the "make install-strip" process in vpopmail-5.3.25+
I see you have installed to /usr/local/vpopmail, rather than the more common /home/vpopmail, so maybe there is some sort of glitch in the installation scripts that haven't set the permissions on your vpopmail tree correctly

If you can post some "ls -al" of your various vpopmail dirs, that would be useful

Michael.

Heya whoever you are,

vpopmail 5.3.27 either has a mistake, or some fault some place, cause it causes qMail to oupt the following errors while trying to save the message:

O, and just a note for you people that will say its permissions, its not. When i try using an old version of vpopmail, namely 5.3.20 it all works fine, and there are no problems at all.

This is tested on FreeBSD 4.7, FreeBSD 5.0, FreeBSD 5.1, and FreeBSD 4.8. All the RELEASE branch. Compiled from the ports. Using this tutorial: http://tutorials.x-istence.com/qMail_vpopmail_daemontools_authpatch.xhtml

The fact that for some reason vdelivermail cant open something would be wrong, considering it always says it no matter what the permissions for the DIR/Files are, and whatever user its run under. This a coding error?

X-Istence.
