Subversion 1.7 is compatible with a 1.6 or earlier repository. Subversion 1.6 is compatible with a 1.7 repository, ao Versions will work with whatever repository you are using, the issue has to do with your working copy - and only matters if you are also using other subversion clients in addition to Versions on your Mac.
