I'm thinking of hosting a new type of Swap in December of this year. I'm sending this post just to test the water. The name would be the "College Spirit Swap" , centered around your college and its football team. I would ask you to tie your flies using your college's colors. Makes no difference if you didn't go to college, I'm sure you have a favorite college football team.( For you guys across the ponds, you can join the swap too. I know lots of you Limeys, Aussies and Canuks, etc. follow American College football. All kinds of possibilities here. If your college was the eventual National NCAA Div. I Football Champion, you would win the "College Spirit Award". Course there could be several ties.
I wouldn't want this to be a "mega swap", maybe 50 max tyers. Imagine the color combinations on the flies. In my case - Mississippi State U's colors are maroon and white - now who ever saw a maroon and white fly? ;~))
If you're interested and want to be included in this unusual swap, let me know. Like I said, this is just a "test the water" post and if enough of you want to do it, we'll roll. No need to start tying flies till Nov-Dec. I'll count those who want to be in the swap from this point on as I receive your replies.
I'm sure other ideas to make this a fun and memorable swap will surface either from you or me.
Cheers,
