JACK,

Well if you have an 8wt. set up with at least a 200 gr. shooting head, i'd say hit the local beaches, Perch are showing in good Numbers, The elusive Corbina are still to found here & there, thought their season in the surf is at an end. Also the halibut are starting the appear in numbers in anticipation of the Barred Surf perch breeding time(the Perch give Live bearth so lotsa little yummies for all bigger fish to eat). if you only got Trout Gear certianly drive to Mammoth lakes area, the water situation is not as bad there as furture south. The Lower Owens around Bishop isn't a Summer water for me most of the time, too damn hot in the daytime, you have to fish first thing in the morning or hit it in the Twilight. The water levels are low, so I would just stir clear of the "Low O" right now.. hope this helps..

Dean,
Thank for the reply. Actually I don't have to stay in Bishop.
Haven't been fishing in a LONG time and was just taking a few
days off to spend with the grandson. I am in southern
California. Would you recommend a different destination?
Thanks. -jack
