Here's one for the experts.

I was looking through the new autumn 2002 issue of Fly Tyer magazine this
afternoon and I noticed something. The cover story about tying the "Extra
Terrestrials" begins on page 28. On page 31, there are tying instructions
for Shane Stalcup's Tan Hopper (a mighty good looking fly). You'll notice
in the material list, the fly calls for a Daiichi 1260 hook in size 2.

I looked through my hook boxes for this hook and I couldn't find it. I
figured I'd use Daiichi's cross-reference chart to see if I had the hook
stocked by another manufacturer, but I noticed that my chart doesn't even
list a 1260 hook. The chart skips from 1250 to 1270 I believe.

Does anybody have any information regarding this hook? It looks like a
somewhat long shank hook but the bend in the hook is also an oddity I
believe. I've seen it before, but I can't name the bend. If anybody can
tell me anything about this hook, its relative dimensions (1xl, 2xl etc) it
would be greatly appreciated. Of course, with this particular fly the hook
length doesn't actually determine the proportion of other sections of the
fly so the actual hook isn't of great consequence. Its just gotten my
attention since I don't know if this hook is new, discontinued or
erroneously printed. Thanks in advance for any information you all can
hook me up with.
