Greetings Wes!

    You would lose absolutely nothing, but Al pretty much hit the nail right on the 
head.  Once you try the technique and use it on the flies where it is applicable, 
you'll see and feel the difference! :-)  I started on a Thompson B(not the A, but the 
B...), then got a Regal 360(a rotary vise, but not "true rotary"), then Ed Story 
talked me into going true rotary, and the rest as they say, is history.  Now I still 
tie some flies on the ol' Regal, but whenever I'm winding anything at all, body 
material, ribbing, hackle, I now prefer the true rotary technique.
