I recently heard that the life of feathers is only about 10 years and hairs
and furs up to 15 years
Jerry;
I have quite a collection in my cool but dry basement tying drawers. No bugs, no UV, no degradation of quality these past 10-20 years. I'm very interested in the tube storage Byard will be offering on LineEnd sometime soon. Thus, you can pluck a few of many colors from those Whiting saddles for trips to the stream without carting the entire collection and risking moisture and sunlight.
I agree with the comments about starting with quality prepared materials and if you have some roadkill, keep it seperate and sealed. As for DonO's "bronzing" of peacock, send me all those green ones you don't like and I'll tie up some CJ's. ;-)
