I find that I really like Deft water base polyurethrane for my flies. It looks cloudy when you apply it but turns clear, is very hard and a wonderful, relatively non-toxic, no oder base. And, if you get klutzy, as I sometimes do and spill it on your tying table, you can use plain water to quickly wash it up. (I believe I learned this trick from Al and Gretchen Beatty..know it is not original from me.). Joyce
