Never cruised in the Bahamas, but I looked into hiring a guide from either Caymans or Cozumel last time I cruised with my wife. Ever been on a cruise? Takes a couple of hours to get everybody off and another couple to get 'em all back on. And that's not considering if the boat has to lay offshore and shuttle everyone in. Your best bet would be to go through the cruise line so the captain can pick you up at the boat.
How close is the good fishing to port? You'll only have a few hours and don't want to spend it all riding. Other alternative is; once my family and I stayed at a resort on Cozumel. Son and I split a charter with a couple. Boat met us at the resort's dock at 7:00, three white marlin caught anad released by 8:00. Probably 20 fish caught
in all that day trolling ballyhoo. The marlin, a huge wahoo (at least it was huge before a shark cut it in two), and a bunch of mahi mahi up to 56 inches. And back washed up for a fresh mahi mahi dinner by 6:00. The boat never left sight of Cozumel island, so a trip out of that port should work well.
