I do not see how you can call the man-made additions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses insignificant.

A preponderance of climate scientists agree that civilization is the major cause of global warming.

Ice core studies have demonstrated that greenhouse gasses have not been higher for more than 10,000 years.

To call it junk science insults my intelligence. "Junk science" is just a cry to quell honest discussion. Most "Junk science" web sites ignore major trends and compare "apples to oranges".

We have seen many extreme weather events in the last few years that are exacerbated by warm water temperatures that fuel stronger hurricanes and rain storms.

We have records in the NE United States that show that the season that Maple Sap flows have started earlier and ended earlier over the last 100 years. Migratory birds are affected by changes in timing of the emergence of insect foods.

A few years back there were some who said that acid rain was "junk science" as well. As we have learned, it was those who had an economic interest in maintaining the status quo that supported and financed this mis-information.

I am disappointed that a discussion by those who enjoy fishing in clear, cool water would be so quick to aid their destruction by ignoring the avalanche of scientific evidence.

You said it well, Henk. Global warming at least the kind being
promoted these days and the false hysteria about DDT (as
documented in the articles Jimi cited) are all just junk science.

Note: global warming as such is real. It is the extent of it, the
time framing of it, and above all, the 'causal humbug' being
promulgated by politics and politically motivated scientists that is
junk science. Greenhouse gases do not cause (much) global warming,
climate models tell you what you put into them, not what the real
climate will do, and the warming trend we see now is almost certainly
a completely natural phenomenon, one cycle in a short period (on the
order of ca 300- 500 years) cyclical climate oscillation. Remember
that little ice age they tried to teach you about in school, the cool
period during the 17th/18th century during which so many ice skating
paintings were produced in Holland and the UK? that basically was the
low of this cycle.
