Yes.  I got a email from someone with a bttv tarball (including the
pic16c54.[ch] files).  I've just copyed them to my bttv tree so they
don't get lost.  I get no answer on emails...

The pic16c54.c should be splitted into two parts:

 * one for IR, this should go into the lirc package (you need it
   for IR support anyway...).  The latest lirc code (cvs) has a
   nice module (lirc_dev) with common code for IR device drivers,
   so the individual drivers don't have to deal with starting a
   thread for polling the IR chip et al.
 * The input switching should go to the new general i2c audio module
   (named experimental.c / tvaudio.c depending on the bttv version).

Hav'nt found the time to deal with this yet, there are other items
with higher priority and I don't have hardware to test it on (hint,
hint)...
