I have a slightly (I assume) different card, same problem:
I have a Pinnacle Systems Studio PCTV card, and I can't get it to tune.
Overview:
- running XFree86 v4.0.2 (but had same results on XFree86 v3.xx)
- relevant contents of /etc/modules.conf:
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 bttv
pre-install bttv modprobe -k tuner
options tuner type=6
- from "lsmod":
lsmod
Module Size Used by
bttv 55072 1
tuner 3220 1 (autoclean)
Note: I also have a Hauppage WinTV card, and it works fine (excluding noise
on channel 2, which I mentioned in a recent posting). The only difference
is the tuner option:
Pinnacle:
options tuner type=6 (for Temic NTSC tuner; supposedly
what Pinnacle has)
Hauppage:
options tuner type=2 (for Philips NTSC tuner)
