this sort of bleeds into the podshow topic. except, veoh is actually populating an exclusive network on its own intentionality and no even looking to sign contracts.
they dont feel they need contracts with creators... i guess the business plan doesnt call for it. so instead they are sucking in content so they seem to be "The Place to Go" for Internet Entertainment. This gives them momentum, money, and better brand awareness. Veoh's wheels are people like vloggers who have setup vodcasts. They should be paying vloggers for helping to kickstart their company.
Now, Veoh may have better intentions but are just failing miserably at executing them (unlikely) so I am curious to see what public response they offer.
Let's not get too drunk on bringing down a king kong.... but its good to spread these poor examples and prevent too much more of these types of infringements on open content creators.

To many many many people, if you create an RSS or Atom people, then you are implicitly giving people permission to do all sort of things with it. It's the way things have been for a very very long time. And this "permission" included aggregating and redistributing. (And I know many people don't like this. But I'm NOT trying to justify this. I'm only trying to explain the attitude of current Internet society.)
This is akin to someone creating a website, posting the URL to the website in public places. And then complaining when people bookmark their site. Or post their own URLs to the site.

Now granted, they should be "talking about" where the "content" came from. They can even use standard HTML elements to do this with: <cite>, <blockquote>, <q>, and <a>. (Or they could use other semantic HTML.)
