Well, while I use the Rode VideoMic and love it, I've heard a lot of good things about the Technica. My issue with the Technica is that it doesnt have a shock mount to absorb any bumps or vibrations. Also, the cable is 3 feet long. You are going to have to wrap that up somehow or have it dangling from the camera when mounted on cam.
My only advice is to find a brick and mortar that has both mics in stock and bring your camera in to test them out.
