Given that your manifesto is about less, not more, perhaps you have all you need at this juncture?
I would add a satellite phone or satellite internet connection, but I don't know how remote you plan to get, or how often you will be returning to areas of cellular coverage or available WiFi hotspots. In our RV, we have a satellite internet receiver, a GPSr (which works in amusing ways), two cell phones (AT&T-- I would recommend getting 2 cells on different networks, so you have the broadest coverage), and the usual complement of laptops and cameras. But then, we're not doing a 1-year journalism exercise, so our goals and needs are different.
