Speaking of "Barbarella": when I was 12, my mother took me and my best friend to the Compton, CA, drive-in to see "The Green Berets" (the John Wayne propaganda turkey). The irony-in-hindsight second feature was "Barbarella." (My mother wanted to leave after the infamous opening Jane Fonda strip scene, but we begged to stay because we were so interested in, uh, sci-fi :)
