Thanks for the replies. OK, I renamed my .add file to ~/.vim/spell/en.latin1.add, added '/?' to the end of my rare words, and ran :mkspell on it.
Still no dice. I'm wondering, how do I make sure that the 'latin1' portion of the name is correct? I run ':setlocal spell spelllang=en', when testing this. My impression should be that this is enough to enable spelling correctly -- can someone confirm this? Does anyone know if vim supports user word settings overriding the main vim dictionary settings? I'm sure 'loose' in the main dictionary as a non-rare word --- am I supposed to be able to override the class of this word in my ~/.vim/spell files? -- Keith Hellman #include <disclaimer.h> [EMAIL PROTECTED] from disclaimer import standard public key @ pgp.mit.edu B5354B76 "We are born wet, naked, and hungry.
