After numerous attempts I've declared Vim 7's spell support the victor.
Perhaps someone can help me out, any suggestions would be helpful.

I have Vim spelling working in general, but I would like to incorporate
a rather special configuration. I'd like to use a personalized
rare-word dictionary to list words that I frequently misuse. For
instance, I'm forever writing
  "their not going tonight"
or
  "you won't loose points if"

The words I should be using are "they're" and "lose". I'd like to have
these highlighted as rare words (not because they are rare, rather
because I rarely use rare words, so this seems a reasonable pigeon-hole
to shoehorn this functionality) --- in a perfect world, I'd see the
rare word highlighting and my brain would kick into its "read this
sentence carefully mode."

I've done the following:
- Created ~/.vim/spell/en-rare.latin1.add
- Written these words into the file (attached)
- Run :mkspell !~/.vim/spell/en-rare.latin1.add (no errors)

But I still don't get any highlighting in a test document (it has spelling
turned on because 'Donot' is highlighted, but ']s' doesn't stop at my
"rare" words. Presumably this means its not a highlighting
configuration error.

Has anyone else setup such a configuration? Got any tips or hints on
how to debug this? Or perhaps (probably :^( ) I've really misunderstood
Vim spelling support.

TIA,

A tuple, a dict, and a list,
And whitespace which mus'n't be missed.
Imported together,
