In SELECT mode, any printable key should replace the highlighted text 
(unless it is part of the {lhs} of an applicable mapping). In VISUAL 
mode the same is not true.

Q is usually mapped to gq by vimrc_example.vim. If it is not mapped, it 
switches to Ex mode, where you can type one Ex command after another. 
The cursor should in that case move to the Vim command-line.
