I sure do respect him too.

I looked at Zimba and it looks really promising, but it is in early stage.
Why do you think what you have in mind isn't possible with Zimbu? A
complete rewrite of Vim can solve all problems. Mutlithreading, embedding.
It would be great if the Zimbu compiler can be included in Vim, so plugins
can be written in Zimbu. Write your script, compile and use it.
And embedding Vim is such a wanted feature that I'm sure it will be there
too.

I know that forking Vim will divide community. But it will also make it

Since a rewrite is planned already I think the best way to go is helping
that rewrite. Most important is finishing Zimbu for that, A rewrite will be
a lot of work but also a major opportunity. Delaying the discussion won't
help. Best bet is to speed up Zimbu-Vim development. Zimbu has to be in a
good enough state to start with Vim rewrite soon or the community will
divide eventually.
Rewriting Vim is much better than forking it. Rewriting it twice is stupid.

A thing that should change is the community options. Why are we discussing
by email? Why aren't Vim forums available? Forums are better accessible and
will improve participation and thus the progress of development and ideas.
