You mean by following the http URL in the subscription confirmation email instead of replying to it by email? Indeed, that seems to work fine. BTW, I have not tried to subscribe using the ``join this group'' link on the Google Groups [1]page since I don't want to create a Google Account just for being able to subscribe to a mailing list...
