Ah, that's a new one on me! If so then Dwight was right about checking
the pram battery. I'll give it a go. I've got an old iMac sitting in a
cupboard that has the same battery type....

...(half an hour later) Guess what, the iMac battery is almost as dead
as the LC one! Just my luck. Ok, will report more on this when I've
bought a new one.
