Try booting while pressing Command-Option-Shift-Delete. I'm not sure this will work on CC2, but on older Macs it would tell the computer to scan for bootable devices attached to the computer's SCSI port, and boot from the first one it could find. If no external SCSI devices were connected, this process would eventually 'find' the computer's internal hard disk and boot from that, (provided the System Folder was valid).
