I finally gave up and send the computer to a technician to have a look. He booted it with System 8 from the CD and everything worked flawlessy. He formatted the HD and installed System 8 without a glitch. The battery seems to be failing as would save little energy and after a few hours unplugged it would fail. The computer boots but almost everytime the clock have to be reset.
Anyone knows of a reliable source to get a new battery? I tried here and without much luck. I tried a Google search without much luck, I found a couple site which sold them but were out of stock.
