I don't think you'll find one best but, one thing to consider is power use. While that ANS or Sun e450 server might be really cool to run as your server the electricity bill won't be. Most of these 'workgroup' servers probably run 600-800 watts. Some much much more. Thats like leaving 6-8 100watt bulbs burning 24/7 in your house. It adds up.
I have a whole garage full of giant servers from the last 20 years. As much as I would love to get geek cred by running one full time I have to pay my own power bill each month. I turn them on as little as possible. I have one rack that draws 14 amps when running. The PowerMacs are pretty power hungry. Always a problem with the PowerPC.
