Daystar's PDS CPU upgrades were designed for the IIci's slot, which was also
used on the Performa 200, the IIvi and IIvx.

All other 020/030 CPU Macs require an adapter to use a Daystar upgrade even
though they fit the slot.

The IIsi and SE/30 have the same PDS. Connect a Daystar CPU card directly to
one of those and you'll ruin the card when you turn the power on. Might also
damage the Mac.

Before the IIci, Daystar made unique CPU upgrades for each model. With the
release of the IIci, Daystar discontinued all those and changed to making just
the cards for the IIci/P200/IIvi/IIvx and adapters for the others to give them
a IIci compatible slot.

For the pre-IIci Mac II series, the upgrades or adapters plugged into the CPU
and FPU (and MMU on the Mac II) sockets*. That made the Daystar upgrade the
permanent CPU which required no control panel to enable. For the IIci and
others where the original CPU and FPU were left installed, a control panel was
required to switch to the upgrade during boot.

*Some IIcx had soldered CPUs. The boards had to be sent to Daystar for a CPU
socket upgrade. The IIcx upgrade or adapter didn't come with a CPU puller like
the others due to some early buyers destroying their boards trying to yank a
soldered CPU out.
