Hello !
One of my 1400's, a /166, runs a 9.1 and has a 6GB hard disk, both other
drives, maxed out RAM, the complete set of covers and the battery is not
totally dead (although I'll have to change the cells) and in pretty good shape.
Built in 1997 it really is vintage. Don't you think so ?

It is indeed vintage but still not covered by the Vintage Macs list.

The LEM lists have a history of this sort of thing, that is the lists trying to hit a moving target. At one time there were several lists that covered the 68K machines. As Apple and the world moved on the total activity on all those lists declined and eventually the were all rolled into the "Vintage" list.

Most likely some and ultimately all PPC machines will likewise get rolled into the "Vintage" list. But it hasn't happened yet. IIRC when Dan has condensed lists he tries to pick the one list with either the most members or that in some way best fits the new list content to carry on and eliminates the other lists. It's rarely a perfect fit and usually engenders a certain amount of debate here.

The bottom line is don't get stuck on the name of the list but rather the intent of the list.

If you're not sure the list page has all the info:

I don't recall them specifying which exact model of 8100 they had, but as near
as I can tell, the last model of 8100 ran at 110MHz. I've played with a PB
1400 (running at a blazing-fast 117MHz!) that had OS 9 loaded and, though it's
been a while, I recall being rather thankful that it wasn't an experience I
had to undergo daily as a hapless end user. :/
