i came to the same conclusion as what you say in your message. those macs can't be upgraded from 9.0 http://support.apple.com/kb/TA20330?viewlocale=en_US
That is why i still look for an EXACT copy of the 9.1 CD as my original one have a scratch and do not work. anyone can do an exact image ? probably made on PC as disk utility and toast can't copy that one .
