Thanks for all the excellent advice. I'm going to request a 400k boot disk for my 128k Mac from someone on this list and see how that goes. Hopefully it will work out. I'm considering cleaning the drive too but reluctant because I'm scared of screwing it up beyond repair.
Can someone confirm the behaviour if the drive was completely *dead* in the 128k? Would the machine still show a disk error with a flashing question mark or something else?
