I've heard about that but not tried it. I'm not sure I would try it myself.
What I do, and maybe this is worse/better, is use distilled water on it and a soft toothbrush to gently scrub the dirty areas. I'll use a high percent isopropyl alcohol on it as well when necessary and then I'll use compressed air in a can to accelerate the drying process and get under the IC's and stuff. I don't usually douse the whole motherboard with water or alcohol, just the areas I'm working on. Usually the boards aren't that dirty, but a capacitor has leaked on it or some minor corrosion crept in somewhere etc. So far that's worked for me. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Papa Bear Sent: Monday, May 03, 2010 9:39 PM To: Vintage Macs Subject: Wash logic board Mac Plus/SE/Classic?? I need to clean up some logic boards and I have read you can wash them in the dishwasher. Then hang them up to dry. Question is= should I use dishwasher detergent or what?? Wash more than one board at a time?? Can I use the drying cycle?? Papa Bear George D. Acton Hemet, CA 92543 -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
