If you're not doing it this way already, I think it Should Work(tm) to create an image of the floppy using a classic system with a hard drive, as Marcio mentioned - boot from a different floppy or HD and then create an image of the 400K disk. Compress or chop up the disk image if necessary, transport by floppy, uncompress/reassemble (possibly inside vMac?), and you will have a disk image that Should Work(tm). This may be moot since it sounds like you've got your files to open via the disk image method, but another thought on your previous question about problems un-binhexing files on the macbook - did you try un-binhexing from inside vMac rather than in OS X?
