hi there.

i'm restoring a quadra 950 and want to use it for »vintage audio stuff«.
but one thing is very problematic: the fan-noise. i'm feeling being at the
airport, but not in my office ;-)

so i was happy to find a modern fan from akasa with integrated
temperature-/speedcontrol. (i don't want to have an blinky modding-thing
with transparent wings and blue leds, even i can't see him inside the
quadra :-)
but now i'm in concern, because the fan is located in front of the power
supply and pushes the air through it (typically fans are »pulling« the air
and sitting on the end). so the fan can monitor the air temperature inside
the housing, but doesn't know the temperature inside the supply?

what do you think? is it a risk, or is the temperature in the power supply
negligible? the akasa fan is regulary running at low speed, but is able to
push more air through the mac, as the standard fan, when its getting hot.

thank you and best regards,
jan
