I have two AVR programmers, both are USB and work on PPC or inhell.  The latest 
version of the compiler package only runs on OS 10.6 or later but earlier 
versions ran on 10.4 and up.

The development package is all command line tools so it's that that big a deal 
to develop it for Mac.
