Yes. Some Mac II's (like the IIci) have the possiblity to be used as an
external SCSI hatddisk. For this, you need to remove a jumper on the logic
board, called 'ROM select'. Normaly booting the Powerbook and being
connected to the switched-on but now quite numb mac II (or your PM8500, if
it has the feature) , you might be able to transfer all her stuff.

and then there's always SneakerNet :)
