I haven't read the articles on this public beta yet, but it takes more than a public beta to squash bugs. There also has to be a commitment from Apple to put resources into fixing the reported bugs. As Sieghard says below, many of the bugs we're still seeing now in IOS 8 were reported during the beta, so it isn't an issue of Apple not knowing the bugs were out there. Given that this is a public beta and the blind community is so small, I'd also be concerned a bit that bugs just affecting the blind VoiceOver user might get drowned out by the bugs affecting so many other users. Obviously, fixing any bug will help all IOS users, including the blind, but Apple will need to continue to be committed to accessibility and fix VoiceOver bugs even if they only affect blind users.
