Most of what I am hearing on this thread sounds like lack of experience, rather than a flaw in the Fleksy design. I have no problem finding and inserting any punctuation or numbers from the lists on the top row. It did take me awhile to get used to this, but now I am extremely fast, much faster than the ios key board, with symbols, numbers, and punctuation.
Remember, if you manually spell out a word, after you swipe right to enter it into the text, swipe up to enter it into the dictionary. Then it will be there the next time you need it.
