When I saw this thread, I was a bit surprised since my first reaction
was that deleting a bunch of messages was a bit easier in Aquamail then
it is in the IOS Mail app, but after thinking about it further, I
realized that it was about a push. In IOS, Maybe I'm missing something
in IOS though. I usually read down through my in box and when I want to
delete a message, I flick up and then double tap to delete. In Aquamail,
I flick right once, double tap the select button and then move on. When
I'm done, I delete all of the selected messages with a double tap on the
move to delete button at the top of the screen. This feels like a push
to me. While I'm reading a message, I just double tap the delete button
in either app and then the next message comes up.
I have to admit though that I think the Mail app on IOS is amazing. In
my opinion, the power and simplicity of it's interface is unparalleled.
I spent a long time in Android looking for something similar before
settling on Typemail and then Aquamail when the Typemail interface got a
bit cluttered.
You're right about dictation, but I find Google does a better job with
speech recognition and punctuation. I also find it pretty easy to find
and double tap on the keyboard input button when I'm done dictating, but
I agree, this isn't as nice as the double tap.
I actually like editing text in Android over the iPhone now. This is
mostly because is so easy to switch granularity by flicking up or down
as opposed to using the roter in Apple. I don't have anything against
the roter, but I tend to have a lot of options in it, so sometimes it
takes a few rotations to change the granularity.

I agree Android approach to navigating and editing is harder to handle

I like the fact that I can easily stop dictation in iOS. I like the fact that I
get a tone telling me that dictation has stopped. I don't get that with
android, except when doing Google voice searches. I also find it easier to get
around in the text and make corrections. I realize that this is not specific to
the mail client. And other people's experiences may differ. But that's my two
cents.

It's one of those things where I really like doing email with the phone in my
