Hi all
Just to let you all know that I have now succeeded with my download of ios
10.1. I have tried so many times, and last night when I tried again, it
actually downloaded the update and I could install it after that. Why it would
not work for so many times, I just do not know. Thank you for all the
suggestions. It is good to know that there are so many knowledgeable people
out there and also people willing to share their knowledge and help.

Regards

Jan

  Hi

Thanks Fanus, will have a look at that lot as well, mine is normally also
turned off though, but will give it a try.

    Hello Jan
I do not know if it will help but a few updates ago my 5S did the same
trick. For some reason I decided to go into the privacy setting and I turned
automatic updates off. It used to be off so why it came on again I do not know
But after turning it off I could do the update. Why this caused the problem is
not clear.

    Hi

It's a 64 gb phone, 50,5 gb left on the phone.

I have not been following this thread. How much room do you have on the
phone?

        Hi

Thanks for all the suggestions. Indeed wi-fi is working, cellular data
is off, and the phone can pretty much be used for anything else but for
updating. I will try some more during the day, before resetting the whole
thing as a new phone, was hoping that would not be necessary. Thanks all the
same for helping.

          Hello Jan,

It sounds to me like you have done all that you could do to try to get

the phone updated. Just to confirm, does your phone state that it is

connected to WiFI in the status bar at the top of the screen after

resetting network settings? Are you able to launch and browse the

Internet with Safari? You might want to try disabling cellular data

and seeing if you could do the update this way. That way you are sure

that WiFi is connected. You can turn off cellular data in

          settings/cellular.

If you still receive the same message, you will have to reset the

phone as new again to get it to update to iOS10.1.

            Hi all

Because of some problems with my computer which is not relevant
here, I

tried updating my iPhone 6 to ios 10.1 over the air, but this seems
to be a

problem. I get to the point where it starts downloading the
update, then

after about 5 minutes the message appears: "error downloading
update" and I

then can close it or retry. Now, I have tried numerous times, same
thing

happening. I have restarted the phone by switching it off,
rebooting with

the multiple presses of the power button, I've reset the network
settings,

no apps in the app switcher, but the same thing happens all the
time. It is

a 64 gb phone, lots of memory free, so that also is not the
problem. I have

used the same wi-fi network to update my wife's iPhone 5S, and
there were no

problems whatsoever. What might be the problem here? When I got
this

phone, it was just after the release of Ios 10. I then did a clean
install,

redownloaded the apps I needed from the app store, not using an old
backup.

So, short from setting it up as a new phone again, would there be
something

else that I could try? It is also connected to power when I
attempt this,

so all those bases are covered. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
